Upbeat Rih music or the darker Rated R sound?

I personally like Rih singing the darker type music that she did on Rated R. I think these type of songs fit her voice well and allowed her to show pure emotion on a track. What's you guys's thoughts?

I prefer POPhanna, but I still love Rated R. I admire the fact that Rihanna isn't all about sales but more about quality, unfortunately Def Jam isn't...

I prefer the dark Rihanna. Dance music isn't really my thing, and I actually like music with more substance rather than your typical, dance/party song. I also don't consider any of the dance music of today timeless, and I have all timeless music on my iPod (Tupac, Aaliyah, Jay z, Eminem,etc.).

I like both, but we have to keep in mind that in the beginning she was not going through what she has been through, it changed for the best, it matched how she felt & happy pop just wouldn't have done her justice and got that point across clearly.

^i do agree with that ..
people love to forget that the reason rated r isn't selling like gggb is because they are two totally different albums ..
people love to act dumb when you say that lol ..
rated r isn't all the way non commercial but it definitely isn't as mainstream as gggb ..
    thats a fact ..
