On Sept. 15, the Rihanna tweeted a response to one of her followers asking "When's the next album due?" with "THIS FALL!!!!!" which must have been music to the ears of her fans.

Sources confirm that a new album is indeed coming soon and it will likely be a proper full-length studio effort.

If so, it will mark Rihanna's sixth studio album since her "Music of the Sun" arrival in 2005 and will come nearly a year after her last set, "Loud," was released in November of 2010. This sort rapid-fire release pattern isn't new for the star: since 2005, she's dropped a new album every year except for 2008.

Collectively, all of Rihanna's albums, including her two remix efforts, have sold 7.3 million in the U.S. While she's had five top 10 albums and a stunning 10 Hot 100 No. 1 singles (a total few acts in history can boast), a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart still eludes her. The closest she came was with "Good Girl Gone Bad," which debuted and peaked at No. 2.
