Elena tries to ignore Bonnie's warnings about the disturbing vibes she got from Stefan. Tyler's attempt to embarrass Stefan on the football field ends with Mr. Tanner reluctantly letting Stefan join the team. Elena invites Stefan and Bonnie for dinner, hoping that the two will bond, but the evening is disrupted by the unexpected and unwelcome arrival of Damon and Caroline. Finally, the town is shocked by an act of violence.

Ian Somerhalder deserves a standing ovation

Ian Somerhalder has been singularly focused on the disaster in the Gulf since the pipe burst over two months (good lord) ago. He's constantly called attention to the ecological catastrophe in interviews, on Twitter and anywhere a mic was placed near his mouth. But Ian found himself shocked to be the only tub thumper.

"Coming from the entertainment world, I'm really shaken by how quiet Hollywood is," the actor told E! Online earlier this month. "And I say that out of respect for my peers and colleagues, but I'm really bummed that no one is really coming up to help the situation. I think a telethon is a good way to funnel money into these channels...We need to set one of those things up to really paint a picture of exactly how much devastation is here."

Well Ian is no longer alone as dozens of stars stood shoulder to shoulder with him on last night's CNN "Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help" telethon that raised over $1.7 million so far. Round of applause please.

Can season two of 'Vampire Diaries' start already?

The Cheekbones, The Eyes and The Smile -- more formally known as "Vampire Diaries" stars Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev -- are in London right now meeting with their funny talking fans.

Merely seeing these three pimping their show has me feeling fang pangs and already longing for season two. I know the show just ended (with May's best season finale, in my humble opinion) but that's simply a testament to how good it is. I never want it to be on hiatus. Ever.

Alas, The CW doesn't feel similarly, so in the meanwhile enjoy this video of the three talking on UK chat show "This Morning."

I watched the independant movie he was in recently called "wake" and although the story had plot holes galore he was good in it.

When does this show come back on?

Re-runs are on NOW, every Thursday, 8pm on the CW. They are still fun to watch.

But, not too long till New Season Premier, on 9/09.
