She doesnt really come off as opinionated! She never seems to feel strongly abuot things going on in hte world and if she does make a statement its for a project or she says something really meaningless and weak.

Random thoughts. Back during stripped days she was all about speaking the truth and now she is very scripted. Yea, if she say anything she will be hated but f* it she might as well ive up to who epople think she is. Speak her mind.

over and out...:nc:

I don't think its a prerequisite for Christina (or any other celeb) to have the obligation to voice their opinions publicly. I'm sure she has strong opinions on a variety of things, but she doesn't need to divulge them to the world.

I think we can tell by her music that she's VERY strongly opinionated. But I imagine she just feels as if she's learnt her lesson when it comes to voicing her opinion publicly and prefers to keep them to herself as to lead a quite life.

Tbh, there is nothing I hate more than when generally uneducated and/or self-indulgent pop stars try to make political statements. Lady Gaga's spectacle rally in Portland, ME to convince Maine's senators to repeal DADT literally made me want to gag. Leave political activism to those who understand it and dedicate their lives to it. My two cents.

she has to choose her words wisely so she won't look dumb.

remember when Pink was talking about animal abuse towards horses in central park and how quickly she got put in her place?

wouldn't be cool if christina suffered the same embarassment.

I think she's opinionated. When it comes to how music should sound, fashion, womens rights, her career, etc. But for the most part, in public she tends to lean more toward being politically correct. I doubt she's that way in the company of friends. Like we know that she was all about Obama, but on Larry King Live she was all coy about it. Keeping certain opinions to herself is probably something she's been encouraged toward, as a way of not alienating some fans.

Maybe because she wasn't on the net to see it or maybe her people just told her about her nom and not Cher's. You don't know her in real life. So stop acting like you do. When you actually meet her in real life and have a conversation with her. Than you can give her this advice.

Well, when she's been opinionated about things, they were taken the wrong way.

And honestly, you can't give an opinion unless you're asked specific questions. Im not sure what people expect her to say sometimes. If she's promoting her album and she's asked about the music, she speaks about the music. When she's asked about certain pop stars, she gives her opinion. She's spoken about domestic violence, gay rights, child hunger, women's rights, double standards... do you really need to know her take on the war in Afghanistan? Because you know as soon as she speaks, rocks are thrown mid sentence. I feel Dont ask dont tell and legalizing gay marriage will be flipped eventually.

blah.

A lot of things she says gets misinterpreted because she doesn't articulate herself well. Quick example: When talking about Cher on Chelsea Lately, she referenced her naively as having "been around the block," in which she seemed to be shocked the audience took it inappropriately. Or, more infamously, "Fun to look at," which could very well have been in the vain of "been around the block" -- it's just a poor choice of words without completely cognizant of more suitable phrasing options.

Other things that are telling are some of her more antiquated philosophies of feminism, which I think she could benefit from if she were more attuned to current affairs if she wants to tap into some cultural resonance while retaining a meaningful message.

Though admittedly she does surprise me sometimes when she discusses some aspects of her divorce and her philosophies on raising a family. It wouldn't be a bad thing if she decided to take a proactive role in developing an education in the areas she's passionate about, because there's only so much she can explain from personal experience that it becomes artistically limiting.

She certainly has the capability, just needs to push her intellectual boundaries.

People don't ask her religious, politics and that kind of things. You wouldn't associate Xtina with politics the way you do it with Shakira or religion with Madonna (at least you could at some point), but I'm personally not here for that. If I want to read about it I would read a magazine or watch a show of my interest. Would I care to know what she thinks? Yeah, but I can go on living without it, she fascinates me for other things.
