Didnt Honor We Belong Together with Song and Record of the Year. WBLT Is the song of the decade, I was so angry that night that once again Messiah got screwed over by the Academy. shame on them. I am still bitter and angry by their decision. and the Snubbing of E=MC2 in 2009 was another catastrophe.:(

Perhaps, but Mariah, as always, won at the end.

She got a standing ovation with her phenomenal lipped performance (Nobody else can do this!) and went to become the most memorable performance of the night driving the audience mad, won two Grammy awards, recorded, produced and wrote the song of the decade, got the best selling album of the year and overall one of the BIGGEST comebacks in Pop history, nobody since the has been able to comeback like this (They stay selling a few copies and getting people walking out of concerts but that's another story!)

She ain't mad.

She won 3 that night I think.

I'm usually not one to like say she "deserved" certain awards because I like her...but she really did deserve Song and Record of the year.

The fact that I can't remember what song actually won kinda speaks for itself...

I think she should have got Album Of The Year too quite honestly but U2 always gets that kinda stuff. They're more "respected" or something. :o

here's who won them

Album of the Year: "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb," U2.

Record of the Year: "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," Green Day.

Song of the Year: "Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own," U2.

I love that Green Day song. I don't know that U2 song....but Mariah still "deserved" the win.

U2 won because the votes were divided between TEOM and the Kanye's album... hence, U2 came along.

Grammys is always about music politics. As I've always said to my friends, Mariah is the type of artist who gets a lot of nominations because she has a lot of voters from both the pop and r&b voters...but her fanbase among these voters is superficial. R&b voters always go for the more black artist, while pop voters always go for the more white artists. Mariah's music, as we all know, is basically crossover trying to cover as much ground as possible...not always true r&b, not purely pop...therein lies the confusion.

But I'm just glad that she and whitney are probably the only 2 female artists on Earth to win Best vocals in both pop and r&b...which is a testament to their true versatility.
