Janet Jackson puts on some sexy glasses - and even sexier underwear - for new movie role
Janet Jackson is about to make a return to the big screen in two new movie projects.
First up she is to reprise her role of Patricia in the comedy, Why Did I Get Married Too and then she is set to star in the film version of the award winning play, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf.
Jackson stars in the movie along with Thandie Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, Macy Gray, Anika Rose and Kerry Washington.
Each of the women portrays one of the characters represented in a collection of twenty poems, revealing different issues that impact women in general and women of colour in particular.
The play was written by Paulette Linda Williams, who now goes by the Zulu name of Ntozake Shange.
The long running play garnered a slew of awards including an Obie, a Tony, an Emmy, and a Grammy.
The work introduced a new theatrical form called the choreopoem.
Jackson looks stunning in her new role, with flawless make-up and hair. At one point her character narrates to camera in just some red and black lingerie.
Thandie Newton plays Tangie and is seen wearing a long, straight wig, whilst Whoopi plays Alice and is seen decked out in tradition African dress of a long tunic and scarf wrapped around her head.
The movie version of For Colored Girls is directed by writer, director, actor Tyler Perry, who also directed Jackson's other upcoming release, Why Did I Get Married Too.
The movie is released in the U.S. on November 5.
Jackson has appeared in several movies before, including, Why Did I get Married, The Nutty Professor II and Poetic Justice.
She has also starred in a number of TV shows including, Fame, The Love Boat and D'ffrent Strokes.
Although she is an established actress Jackson is best known for her singing skills.
The youngest sibling of the Jackson family, Janet started her performing career at the age of seven, singing on stage with her famous brothers.
