Fire Bomb and Cold Case Love are like my 2 fav Rihanna ballads that she's ever done. I still think she should have released one of them as a single. Fire Bomb was a clear fan favorite and won all the polls when her team asked fans to choose the next single but they went with Rude Boy then everyone thought they'll release FB to finish up the era after RB but they released Rockstarr 101 instead :nc: and Te Amo WW which is not a bad song just too damn old. I mean it leaked like a year before the album came out and they still released it :noway:

At that time, she was working with DJ Premier and he was already claiming to have 3-4 songs on the new album, then a few months later, he said that they were going for a straight up pop album. Came 2008, they decided to release the Greatest Hits.

I always assumed that KGB, Dynamite were among the songs Christina had been working on. I remember that the "original" album was supposed to have been majorly Linda Perry + short & Sweet. They weren't talking about the greatest hits.

It all depends on the artist. Some people take longer to come up with concepts than other.

Some people are able to write and produce songs faster than others.

Some also just listen to a bunch of demos sent to them and pick the hottest 14 or som songs to make a nice album.

The creative process is different for every artist.

Yes, but despite of Rude Boy's huge success Rated R totally underperformed in the states and worldwide. Her tour is struggling too. She is the true definition of a singles artist now.

I think her label wants to try and get a new album out of her to push more sales.

GGGB was huge especially after it's re-release, but it's the only album in Rihanna's discography that was a smash. She's had a ton of hit singles though.
