Richie Hayward, co-founder of Little Feat, died of liver cancer at age 64. Richie was the drummer, and threw down the big beat for one of the all-time GREAT rhythm sections, in my humble opinion. Another addition to that unbelievable band in heaven.

Rest in peace...you did wonderful work here on earth.

Amen to that. I've seen Little Feat a dozen times or so since they reformed in the 80s, and their rhythm section was one of the best I've ever seen. RIP Mr Hayward...

Little Feat -- my second favorite band of all time after Bruce and the ESB. I read for some time about the charity events and fundraisers for Richie. He had trouble at first with the Canadian health care system and seems like treatments were delayed or some other medical roadblock. RIP, Richie, one of the greatest drummers ever. Now you and Lowell can make beautiful music together at the great big party in the ever after.

Willin'...usually the first thing that pops in my head when thinking of the band...along with "There's a fatman in the bathtub singing the blues"

Really incredible music. I remember being a ski bum in CO in 1981 and a co-worker and I were talking about the band. It so happens that a baby grand was close by where we were at the time. The co-worker said something to the effect of wanted to jam with Lowell. I mentioned that would be tough since he was dead!
